This is a six minute trailer of the full forty-minute documentary video that tells the story of the struggle to reclaim the Negro Burial Ground in Richmond’s Shockoe Bottom. The Negro Burial Ground is the final resting place of both enslaved and free Africans who’s names we do not know, but whom we have not forgotten. The purpose of this video was to raise awareness in the community about the continued desecration on the sacred space where our ancestors are buried. How can we celebrate the election of the first Black president while those who’s shoulders he/we stand on continue to be disrespected? This video is a call-to-action and I am waiting for the response.
